The Theater Barn, now in its 38th season, is a historic non-equity theater located in the Berkshires just a bit over 2 hours from NYC and Boston. The summer/fall season consists of 3 plays and 3 musicals. Currently seeking:
PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER - Currently seeking reliable, take charge, self-motivated, resourceful, and experienced PSM familiar with summer stock schedules. Hands-on position includes but is not limited to assign scene changes. oversee and execute props, send out schedules, rehearsal reports and performance reports daily, oversee side work duties on show days, and oversee strike. Must be responsible, have great organizational/managerial skills, get along with actors and be able to meet deadlines. Housing is provided, (private room) and the salary is set at $500 per week with many days off throughout the summer. MUSICAL DIRECTOR – Salary is $2000 per show for three musicals and a total of 9 weeks of work with many days off. Rehearsals begin July 4 with 10 days of uninterrupted rehearsal for each show. Open with MURDER BALLAD with FOREVER PLAID as the middle show and closing out the contract with Little Shop of Horrors on September 4th. There are 5.5 performances per week. Private room is provided in a 3 bedroom apartment with a Director and PSM. This position requires ability to set priorities, schedule musical rehearsals and work comfortably and quickly in a fast-paced 10 days of rehearsal and 2-week production/performance schedule. Responsibilities include teaching and rehearsing all principle and chorus parts, conducting a small pit and playing shows extremely well. Professional summer stock experience is a plus as are excellent people skills. In addition to acoustic piano, MD should have working knowledge of electronic keyboards, specifically a Korg KROME EX 88-Key Music Workstation. SOUND DESIGNER/ASST. LIGHTING DESIGNER - Currently seeking reliable, take charge, self-motivated, resourceful sound designer with experience hanging lights and programming both sound and lights through QLab on a MacMini. Theater has an X32 Rack Digital Mixer with a 40-input, 25-Bus Digital Rack and 16 Programmable MIDAS Preamps, USB Audio Interface and iPad/iPhone Remote Control. All actors perform with a Sennheiser EW 112 G3 Wireless Lavalier Microphone. Responsibilities also include running mic checks, running lights and sound for performances and helping with minimal set painting and construction under supervision of the Scenic Designer and Master Carpenter during the week after a show opens. Housing is provided and salary is $425 per week with several days off. Must be available for the theater's MUSICALS ONLY, (9 WEEKS) from July 5 through September 5.
